Boston James is 8 Months Old!

Our sweet boy is now 8 months old! It’s unbelievable the changes that have taken place since we’ve moved to Rhode Island. Boston is now pulling himself up and standing with ease. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you’ll catch the brief 3-5 seconds of Boston standing up totally unassisted, until he plops on his bum and attempts it all again.

3

Boss now has two teeth, is saying ‘Dad’ with intent and totally running the house. His favorite shows are Doc McStuffins, Jake & The Neverland Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He also enjoys the Google Chrome commercial and the weather portion of the news. Boston is eating three square meals a day and bottles whenever he asks for one. He loves juice, too!

2

If you ask Boston for a kiss, there is a strong possibility that he will open his mouth and try to engulf your face. Boss is now fitting well into 18 month clothing and enjoys long bubble baths. More often than not, Boston is the happiest kid in the world. He is an absolute joy and a complete blast. I am convinced that he’s convinced that he is a dinosaur. His ‘RAWR’ is pretty awesome.

…and to think, just 8 months ago this big boy was a tiny little peanut all curled up in the corner of that Nap Nanny, just 6 pounds and 6 ounces of skin and bone. Amazing how they grow, isn’t it?

Boston is 7 Months Old!

1

Our little man is 7 months old! He’s been 7 months old for a solid 2 weeks now but we’ve been busy bees over here! We’re all doing great and are happy as can be! I need to update more, I know, I know.

2

Boston is still growing stronger and getting bigger every single day. He can now pull himself to a standing position with ease and uses us as a jungle gym whenever he wishes. Our big boy eats like a champ and has tried a lot of awesome new foods this month. Boston’s personality blossoms more and more every single day as he constantly explores the world around him.

6

Our little boy isn’t so little anymore, he’s starting to look less and less like a baby with every passing moment and more and more like a big boy.

His outtakes are hilariously adorable. Yes, Jake the giraffe is totally photo bombing and yes, Boston is eating grass.

And huge props to Boston’s Uncle Jake [yes, we named the giraffe after Uncle Jake] for becoming a Corpsman in the US Navy. We’re so proud of you, kid! Can’t wait for you to come home!

Kason’s 3rd Birthday Party!

On Sunday we went to Goddard State Park in East Greenwich to attend Kason’s 3rd Birthday Party. Kason is the son of one of my oldest and bestest friends in the whole world, Kendra. We had such a wonderful time! The weather was perfect, the food was great and the company was exceptional. They have a lovely family and although we don’t share blood, it sure felt like we did! Boston had such a good time watching all the big kids play and getting to meet everyone!

Boston James Visits Great Gramma Joyce!

My mom and I brought Boston to visit his Great Gramma Joyce. Boston will never know first hand what a caring, selfless and loving woman she was, but I can assure you that he will definitely hear stories about her as he grows up. While visiting Great Gramma Joyce, Boston also got to visit his Great Uncle Ronnie & my grandmother’s husband Ray.

Boston’s Play Date with Ryan!

Boston had his first play date with his new buddy Ryan today! Ryan’s mom Cindy and I went to high school together and it’s so cool that our sons are only a few months apart in age! The boys did Baby Things together for awhile, shared toys, rolled around, had a drink and knocked out. Yes, they both knocked out. COLD.

It was awesome catching up with Cindy and we can’t wait to hang out with her and Ryan again soon! We had such a wonderful time and Ryan is an absolute doll. I am so excited to watch them grow up together! =]

Boston is 6 Months Old!

6m4

Boston turned 6 months old on the 14th of August and I can’t believe how big my 6 pound 6 ounce baby has gotten! This month Boston moved from Iowa to Rhode Island, began sitting up on his own, had his first play dates, went to his first baseball game, went to the beach for the first time and tried some awesome new foods!

6m1
We are almost certain that ‘Ba ba’ means bottle in Boston’s baby language. Boston can also say ‘Ma ma’ and ‘Da da’, both of which seem intended. He has said ‘Hi’, too! We’ve also caught him saying ‘Ivy’ [the dog’s name] quite a few times while looking directly at her.
6m6Boston just began sitting up on his own! We are so proud of our big boy! He doesn’t have it down 100% of the time, but we’re so close! He’s still learning how to balance all that mass he’s working with and he’s doing a great job! He isn’t crawling or waving just yet, but they are both on our ‘to do’ list this month!

6m3

This month brought about so many new foods, too! Boston has tried plums, peaches, nectarines, spinach, apples, mangoes, green beans, squash, zucchini, fish and quite a few more! He absolutely loves to eat and never turns down a meal. Our big boy is so healthy and strong!

6m5

We don’t have Boss’ 6 month appointment until September 5th, but after weighing him unofficially on the bathroom scale, he is between 19 and 20 pounds. I’m predicting in 2 weeks at his appointment he’ll weigh 20 pounds and 3 ounces. Jim is guessing 20 pounds and 8 ounces. We’re taking guesses in the comments of this post. Winner gets bragging rights!

6m2

With each passing day Boston gets more and more handsome, more and more intelligent and more and more awesome. Boston’s personality grows every single day and it’s amazing the differences we see in him in just one month. I’m excited to introduce him to new food in the next month, teach him how to wave and crawl and keep working at those words that just seem to be pouring out of him.

6m7

I know I say this every month but we are so incredibly proud of this little boy and all his accomplishments, regardless of their size. Jim and I have been blessed with the smartest, sweetest, most handsome son we could have ever imagined. I know every parent says that about their kid, and every parent truly believes it, but every parent should think that way about their kid. There is nothing better than being a parent. Nothing.

Lunch & Fun in Warren!

Since today was absolutely gorgeous, we decided to grab lunch at the Blount Crab Shack in Warren. The sun was warm and the breeze was cool, perfect weather. My Mom and I each got a bowl of Lobster Bisque and Jim got a Fish Reuben. They have such great food and the location is gorgeous, right on the water with boats parked along side of it and constant boat traffic in the water just feet away.

After we ate we drove down the street to the Warren Town Beach to let Boston get his feet wet and eat some sand. That boy LOVES the ocean! He has no complaints in the world when his baby skin is in that salt water. Once the tide came in and we were forced from out blanket we decided it was time to change his clothes and let him play on the swings. He loves swings! [Hell, what doesn’t he love? Such an easy going and happy baby!] Boston would have stayed on that swing all day and night if we would have let him.

Tomorrow we plan on having a REAL beach day! You know, the kind where you pack a cooler and plan on staying the whole day, when everyone gets in the water, jump waves, build sandcastles and search for treasures along the shore! I’m so excited! I can’t wait!

Beach Trip to Narragansett

Boston turned 6 months old today! To celebrate him being such a big boy, we decided to head to the beach [like we need a reason or something, right?]. It was a little bit windy at our first stop, the ‘secret’ beach next to the East Wall, but our second stop was just perfect, which ended up being Narragansett Town Beach. As you will see in the pictures, Boston is sitting up unassisted! He has been sitting up without help for a few seconds here and there, but today is the first time he actually sat there without us having to lunge at him to stop him from face planting. WE ARE SO PROUD!

Happy 6 Month Birthday, Boston James! We love you so much and are so very proud of you!

Boston’s 2nd Date with Jai’lynn!

Jai’lynn asked Boston on a 2nd date and he was absolutely over the moon. It was no secret he had a super crush on this beautiful Indian princess and after today he asked me for his own cell phone like Jai’lynn has so he can call her. I can’t blame the kid, though. Who wants their mom setting up dates for them? Surely not my kid. So, we went on Amazon after their date and ordered him his very own phone so he can call Jai’lynn and make plans without Justyne and I being all up in their business.

They had a few drinks together, shared toys with each other and ever got a little close and cuddly with one another. These two absolutely make me melt.
